About us

Green chemistry for high-performance materials and chemicals

Set up in 2011, DEMETA is a Green Chemistry company specialized in the development of new generation catalysts for the production of high performance materials and chemicals.

The catalysts developed by DEMETA are patent-protected molecular tools used at very low dosage that simplify chemistry, making it possible to develop efficient, eco-responsible, safer and more competitive processes and products.

With its first technology platform, DEMETA develops and markets NexTene™, a family of high-performance and low-carbon footprint materials adapted for extreme conditions, serving various markets, from offshore oil & gas, to composite materials and other industrial applications.

With GreenCARE, its second technology platform, DEMETA develops specialty bio-based molecules, such as cosmetic ingredients, flavors & fragrances, pigments, bio-herbicides and surfactants.

DEMETA is committed to the ecological transition. All of its products contribute to the European Commission’s 2030 targets for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and strengthening energy efficiency :

  • Greenhouse gas emissions – a cut of at least 40% below 1990 levels
  • Renewables – increased to at least 32% share
  • Energy efficiency – increased by at least 32.5%

DEMETA is supported by the European Commission through the highly selective EIC Accelerator Pilot financing program.

Mission: developing new catalysts for Green Chemistry

DEMETA’s mission is to respond to the growing demand for increasingly eco-responsible and efficient processes and products, adapted for new constraints and technological boundaries.

DEMETA designs, develops and markets technologies to meet these new challenges, while respecting the 12 fundamental principles of Green Chemistry.

DEMETA’s catalysts make better use of available resources, while helping to improve three key parameters for the industry:

  1. Product performance: DEMETA’s processes and products offer improved technical performance compared with existing solutions.
  2. Sustainable performance: all of DEMETA’s processes and products are contributing to the European Commission’s 2030 targets.
  3. Economic efficiency: production costs are reduced thanks to simplified processes.

In the context of the ecological transition, DEMETA is positioned as a key partner for many industrial players. Its high-performance materials and molecules are protected by a portfolio of more than 50 patents.

DEMETA is also committed to a quality and safety approach, deploying ISO 45 001 (Occupational Health and Safety Management), ISO 14001 (Environmental Management) and ISO 9001 (Quality Management).

Convinced that success is built around open innovation, DEMETA has developed many industrial, academic and institutional partnerships since it was founded.
